Although we are no longer under the Covid Protection Framework, we still need to be vigilant to ensure the health and safety of our parish.
The following are some Parish practices currently in place in Our Lady of the Bays:
- Holy water is available at the church door, refreshed regularly.
- There can be contact at the Sign of Peace.
- Communion on the tongue can now be provided.
- Regarding the previous points, parishioners may still wish to take their own safety precautions when attending Mass. Please continue to show respect and tolerance to others’ choices.
- Regarding Communion under both kinds (drinking from the chalice) this will be introduced once it is SAFE TO DO SO in ALL our church communities.
- Please be reminded that we still need to be vigilant with hygiene procedures to prevent the spread of illnesses. If you are unwell please stay at home.
The Catholic Parish of Our Lady of the Bays is located at the top of the South Island and is bounded by Nelson, Tasman Bay and Golden Bay in the North and Kahurangi National park and Mount Richmond Forest Park.
